I Can Dream

I've seen you before at a place unknown,

Somewhere in time, the seed was sown.

Was it in the last life or the one before,

Were you the one I would always adore?

Your eyes haunt my questing mind,

They flash and sparkle, for my senses are blind.

What is the secret they lock away?

"Don't you know me?" They seem to say.

Your face is moulded with a gentle grace,

High cheek bones, define your race.

Oval in shape with an aristocratic air,

Outlined to perfection by well groomed hair.

Your voice sounds like a familiar tone,

A forgotten sound which is yours alone.

You speak of places from the distant past,

Memories and visions that time has cast.

Your lips so warm and tender,

Compliment your fingers, delicately slender.

From where did you come so long ago,

I can feel the heat of an inner glow.

You were my love in a distant place,

A far off land that I wish to trace.

Are you the strength that destiny sent?

Are you the prize, eternity meant?

There will always be a heartache,

and often a silent tear,

but always a million wishes,

wishing you were here.

There will always be your reflection,

in my lonely saddened stream,

and there will always be a 'you and me',
